Ready, Steady, HEROES…

This Sunday (20th) saw thousands of Super, Wonder and Spider-people taking to Brighton seafront to pound the pavements for charity. Our ten-strong team of Foster Care Heroes took on the 10K, 5K and 500m (for littluns) races, while I hooted and hollered from the sidelines.

Here’s Maxine Marshall’s account of the day…

“Julie, Marie & I have been ‘getting fit’ at boxing/circuit training classes for over a year, so when Julie got news of the Heroes Run through her fostering organisation (she long-term fosters two lovely boys), SHE decided we should sign up! We roped Linda in too as she’d been running for a while & we trained twice a week every week, in all weathers!

That still didn’t help us not to be really nervous on Sunday before the big race started! It was a fabulous atmosphere and really great to see everyone dressed up in costumes. We’re so glad we made the effort to be pink super girls! The rain held off & we even saw some sun. Running was hard work but the finish line looked so good as I crossed it!!! We had lots of supporters & we all feel we’ve really earned every penny of our sponsorship!”

Super loos… do they come out normal?

lol
